Eco Fest Winners Were Announced

On November 6, the Eco Fest competition was completed in Almaty. Schoolchildren from different cities of Kazakhstan took part in the competition as supported by Jusan Bank: Almaty, Astana, Kostanai, Semei and Aktau. There were all kinds of projects — solar panels, notebooks made of recycled paper, sportswear and hydrogen fuel made of plastic. 

According to Yevgeny Mukhamedzhanov, the Eco Network founder, 45 applications were submitted in total, and the best 12 were selected.

‘The projects can be divided into technological ones — biogas plants, solar panel fruit dryer, and marketing projects — recycled bags, merchandise, etc. We are ready to render technological support to demonstrate their products to business — our clients, among which are about 110 companies today,’ the ecologist said. 

Jusan Bank provided financial support to the competition. 

‘The value of ‘green’ projects is very high, especially among children, for we rest high hopes on them. With such projects, we can prevent increase in waste in landfills. The ideas presented at the competition and the already implemented business models are necessary for both agriculture and urban life,’ says Gaukhar Kerimova, the PR Director at Jusan Bank. 

Three teams won the Eco Fest competition: the III place was taken by the Helio Dryer project, the II place went to Reveco with clothing recycling, and the I place went to Togzhan Niyazbek and her Water from Air. The winners won the prizes as well: KZT 100,000, 150,000 and 300,000, respectively.
