The Winners of the 2022 Kazakhstan Paravolleyball Championship Are Determined
The championship of Kazakhstan in sitting volleyball has ended — Kazakhstan is in 7th place in the world in this Paralympic discipline. This year we managed to take the championship to a new level thanks to support from Jusan Bank. The first three places were provided with a prize fund, and for the first time in the history of Kazakhstani paravolleyball, fans from different parts of the country watched the game of athletes through a live broadcast on sports TV channels and social media.
The head coach of the national team of Kazakhstan in sitting volleyball Bauyrzhan Takhauov said that teams from 10 regions of the country took part in the championship: ‘Sitting volleyball as a sport has been developing for 30 years, over the past 10 years it has begun to develop rapidly. We are already on the global stage. There are 78 teams in the world, and no difference between classic volleyball and sitting volleyball. The rules are the same. However, in sitting volleyball, the game rules are designed to factor in the capabilities of people with disabilities. Each team consists of six players.’
‘We supported the Kazakhstan paravolleyball championship, as this is an unfairly unpopular sport and which, unfortunately, many are not aware of. In my opinion, para-athletes are superhumans, titans who do beyond their capabilities. So we were inspired by their story. It is no coincidence that the slogan of our bank is: ‘Believing in You.’ We believe in these guys. They are very cool, and decently vindicate the honour of Kazakhstan at the world Paralympic site. I hope our partnership will be sustained. This is our contribution to shaping an inclusive environment in the country,’ added Gaukhar Kerimova, the PR Director at Jusan Bank.
Thus, the Aktau team took the third place. The second place was taken by the Kyzylorda team. The Atyrau team won the first place and gold medals. The judges also determined the best players in the following categories:
• The Best Middle Blocker — Yerbolat Altayev from the Mangystau Oblast
• The Best Setter — Bauyrzhan Sartayev from the Atyrau Oblast
• The Best Libero — Kuanysh Tazhikov from the Atyrau Oblast
• The Best Hitter — Perdebai Namuratov from the Atyrau Oblast
• The Best Opposite — Eric Kaskabayev from the Kyzylorda Oblast.
