Galimzhan Yessenov Shakhmardanovich

Galimzhan Shakhmardanovich Yessenov was born in 1982. Has more than 10 years of leadership experience in financial organizations. In 2013–2020 was Chairman of the Board of Directors of ATFBank JSC and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of KNG Finance LLP. In 2011–2013 was the General Director of Kaznitrogengaz LLP.

He was a shareholder and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the mineral fertilizer manufacturer Kazphosphate LLP. His early entrepreneurial career was spent working with various business projects in the agro-industrial sector.

In addition to his professional work, Mr. Yessenov devotes a lot of time to social work. In 2013, he founded the scientific and educational foundation named after. Academician Shakhmardan Yessenov, who is a major donor to the Kazakh scientific and educational sector and a source of scholarships, grants and internships for young Kazakh scientists.

He is the founder of Almaty Marathon. He made many efforts to develop and popularize sports disciplines such as chess, triathlon and mixed martial arts in Kazakhstan.

He was the President of the Kazakhstan Chess Federation. He led the Almaty and Kazakhstan Triathlon Federations and served as President of the Central Asian Triathlon Association. Represented Kazakhstan on the Board of Directors of the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation IMMAF (International Mixed Marital Arts Federation).

He graduated from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business in the Executive MBA program, the Kazakh State Law University (KazGUU) with a degree in Jurisprudence, and the Academy of Economics and Management - Eurasian Institute of Market with a degree in Economics and Management.
